Flowers Became My Therapy: How I Found Myself Again Through Floral Design

Hi, I’m Kei, the Stem Queen.
For most of my life, I’ve been the person people call.
The mother. The friend. The daughter. The partner. The one who remembers the birthdays, carries the heavy things, shows up when someone needs her, and somehow finds a way to make everything beautiful even when life doesn’t feel that way.
And somewhere along the way, I realized I had forgotten to make room for myself.
Then I found flowers.
At first, it was simply something I loved. I loved the colors, the textures, the way a handful of stems could become something completely different in your hands. I loved the quite moments arranging something beautiful (even where there was chaos around me). But somewhere between trimming stems, getting my hands dirty, and learning how to turn a pile of blooms into something meaningful, something in me began to change.
Flowers became my therapy.
They taught me that beauty doesn’t have to be perfect to be worth celebrating. That some things need to be cut away so something healthier can grow. That flowers can bend without breaking. That seasons change. That letting something go doesn’t mean it wasn’t beautiful.
And, most importantly, they taught me that I deserved to create something just because it brought me joy.
That’s how Stem Queen was born.
What started as my own little corner of healing became something much bigger. Now, I get to create flowers for people during some of the most meaningful moments of their lives: birthdays, weddings, celebrations, new babies, milestones, memorials, and all the ordinary moments that deserve a little more beauty.
I don’t just arrange flowers.
I create the feeling you remember when you look back at a moment years from now.
Because I know firsthand that flowers can be more than decoration. They can say I love you. They can say I’m proud of you. They can say you made it. They can say I’m here. Sometimes, they can even say the things we don't know how to put into words ourselves.
I hope you find someone who understands that every bloom has a story, every season has a purpose, and sometimes, the most beautiful thing we can do is allow ourselves to grow.
Welcome to Stem Queen. I’m so glad you’re here.
Let’s make something beautiful.
